History
The Sea Museum was founded in by Oceam association.
For centuries, fishermen have contributed to shape les Sables d’Olonne. At the beginning of the 20th century, Les Sables d’Olonne Port was one of the most important in France. There were more than 15 sardine factories. One of the most important objective of the museum is to preserve cultural heritage and to pay tribute to local fishermen.
